Free eBooks...

I am addicted to my Nook. Why? So, sO, SO many reasons why. Here are a few...

First of all, my Nook enables me to carry a library with me everywhere I go. I love being able to have new books and old favorites at hand whenever I want them. I love being able to get books and read them instantly without going to the store to buy them or having to pay for a library card. For one, the closest store that sells actual books is over 30 miles away. Yes, I live at the corner of 31st and Plum... 31st Mile Out and Plum in the Middle of Nowhere. The closest library is 15 miles away, but it is a city library, and you have to live within city limits to be able to check out books. I can't afford it...

Which brings me to reason two... There are so many places on the internet to get free books! Barnes and Noble has a lot of classics, cookbooks, romances, thrillers just waiting for me to download without paying a penny. Every Friday, they put up a new book as a Freebie for a limited time. There are other places, such as Amazon, that have free eBooks available for download as well! I am hoping to have a list from these such sites to provide you each week. This week, I will list free Cookbooks! I have found several that I hope you all enjoy!

Another reason... It is green! When I pay for an eBook or download a free one rather than buying it in hardback or paperback form, I am helping to save trees. I do love the smell of books... That first whiff of scent that hits you when you enter a bookstore or a library... It is calming for me, but the knowledge that I am not hurting the environment with my obsession is just as great!

I do buy certain books in paperback and hardback... my favorites... I intend to replace all my favorite paperbacks with their hardback counterparts. Unless it is signed... I got my first one from one of my favorite authors through a contest I won just today!! Stephanie Bond is great! Feel free to enter the current contest at Stephanie Bond - Enter Contest and let me know if you win! Good Luck! Moving on... Someday, I will have all the Harry Potter hardbacks along with my fave books by Christine Feehan, Julie Garwood, L.J. Smith, Charlaine Harris, etc. Until then, I read them in whatever form I can get them in cheaply...

Enough of my ramblings! Here are the free Nook Cookbooks that I have found so far today and added to Alex's memory... Yes, I named my Nook... Eric Northman after my fave True Blood character! *drools* :p~~~ Anyways, here are the Barnes & Noble links:

I have the free Nook for PC App but only used it until I got my Nook. It is easy to use. I would recommend to anyone wanting to read "green" or free! Barnes and Noble offer free eReader programs/apps for use on various devices so those who don't own a Nook can still read their free books! That link is HERE. I prefer to click on "Shop" on my Nook's menu and then search for the author's name or the name of the book. Please let me know if any of you use any of the recipes or if the book becomes no longer free... Hope you are finding this blog helpful thus far. I know I haven't posted much, but I will be doing more once I am over this pneumonia!
