RewardTV - I hit 1 million pts last night!! :)

I joined RewardTV about a year ago but only started really working on watching shows and taking the quizzes to earn points a little over a month ago. Not much has changed since the original review. Earning is basically the same except the number of questions varies from show to show and the networks available have changed. If you watch a past show online, depending on what network it is on, you may be able to take a quiz on it. CW shows have to be taken the day after they air as well as a few others I have found such as the ABC Family show 'Switched at Birth'. There are also special surveys that they post weekly about movies and movie trailers that you might have seen. I suggest watching the trailers each week as they come out before taking those quizzes. I watch most of mine on Hulu+ because the area for trailers is sorted according to release date and are all available in one place so you don't have to go looking for them. This Virgo LOVES that! Sometimes after you finish a quiz on a TV Show you have watched, a "bonus" quiz on your consumer, ads, etc will appear before what I call the 'quiz over' screen. Those are also great ways to earn. You really need to pay attention to ads!! I've noticed that I sometimes get more points from my correct answers on ads than the questions I answer about the actual show. If you didn't watch any shows listed the day before, then check to see if any movies you have ever watched were played by hovering your cursor over 'Play Trivia Games' on the Blue Menu Bar. On the menu that drops down, you will see 'Movies on TV.' You may also want to check the 'Sports' section through the link in the same menu as the movies. In the past month, using the listed methods, I went from 100k+ to a little over 1 million points! I have my heart set on either Amazon Gift Cards or a tablet PC of some sort that I will never be able to afford on my own.

Redeeming sounds a bit different as well. They still have the "Shopping Sprees" that you have to do some fast clicking before the number of the cards available are gone. They also have auctions that you can bid on with your points for some really amazing prizes - everything from Gift Cards to iPads! They also have sweepstakes that you are automatically entered in when taking some of the weekly quizzes in addition to your 1st, 2nd & 3rd quizzes of the day. There are also sweepstakes that you can use your points to buy chances.

I think that about covers it... I wish you luck! To join in the fun, drop me an email (mepaden@facebook.com) and I will send you a referral email so you can win free stuffs with me! You can also friend me at http://www.facebook.com/mepaden and https://twitter.com/tiraillse. I look forward to hearing all about your wonderful wins!!!

Visualize "Whirld Peas,"

And this Emmy is outta here!! :)

Free eBooks...

I am addicted to my Nook. Why? So, sO, SO many reasons why. Here are a few...

First of all, my Nook enables me to carry a library with me everywhere I go. I love being able to have new books and old favorites at hand whenever I want them. I love being able to get books and read them instantly without going to the store to buy them or having to pay for a library card. For one, the closest store that sells actual books is over 30 miles away. Yes, I live at the corner of 31st and Plum... 31st Mile Out and Plum in the Middle of Nowhere. The closest library is 15 miles away, but it is a city library, and you have to live within city limits to be able to check out books. I can't afford it...

Which brings me to reason two... There are so many places on the internet to get free books! Barnes and Noble has a lot of classics, cookbooks, romances, thrillers just waiting for me to download without paying a penny. Every Friday, they put up a new book as a Freebie for a limited time. There are other places, such as Amazon, that have free eBooks available for download as well! I am hoping to have a list from these such sites to provide you each week. This week, I will list free Cookbooks! I have found several that I hope you all enjoy!

Another reason... It is green! When I pay for an eBook or download a free one rather than buying it in hardback or paperback form, I am helping to save trees. I do love the smell of books... That first whiff of scent that hits you when you enter a bookstore or a library... It is calming for me, but the knowledge that I am not hurting the environment with my obsession is just as great!

I do buy certain books in paperback and hardback... my favorites... I intend to replace all my favorite paperbacks with their hardback counterparts. Unless it is signed... I got my first one from one of my favorite authors through a contest I won just today!! Stephanie Bond is great! Feel free to enter the current contest at Stephanie Bond - Enter Contest and let me know if you win! Good Luck! Moving on... Someday, I will have all the Harry Potter hardbacks along with my fave books by Christine Feehan, Julie Garwood, L.J. Smith, Charlaine Harris, etc. Until then, I read them in whatever form I can get them in cheaply...

Enough of my ramblings! Here are the free Nook Cookbooks that I have found so far today and added to Alex's memory... Yes, I named my Nook... Eric Northman after my fave True Blood character! *drools* :p~~~ Anyways, here are the Barnes & Noble links:

Lily's Little Cajun Cookbook by Eric Wilder
One Dozen Addictive Recipes by Victoria Russo
The Guilt Free 3 by Lisa Lillien
Learn a little Spanish with Sangria by Serge Seveau
A Cookbook by Ted by Ted Summerfield
Make Cold Espresso Drinks Just Like A Pro by Bethany Dasko
Rapid Recipes for Writers . . . And Other Busy People by Marsha Ward
JeBouffe Home Canning Step by Step Guide (second edition) Revised and Expanded by JeBouffe
Savvy Holiday Entertaining by Shanna Hatfield
A Parchment Paper Thanksgiving: A Holiday Sampler Menu from the Parchment Paper Cookbook by Brette Sember

I have the free Nook for PC App but only used it until I got my Nook. It is easy to use. I would recommend to anyone wanting to read "green" or free! Barnes and Noble offer free eReader programs/apps for use on various devices so those who don't own a Nook can still read their free books! That link is HERE. I prefer to click on "Shop" on my Nook's menu and then search for the author's name or the name of the book. Please let me know if any of you use any of the recipes or if the book becomes no longer free... Hope you are finding this blog helpful thus far. I know I haven't posted much, but I will be doing more once I am over this pneumonia!

Inbox Dollars

I have been an on and off again member of Inbox Dollars for more than 5 years. Until recently, I hadn't been paying them much attention. The last time I actually read an email each one earned me less than a penny and didn't seem worthy of my time. Then again, at that time, I was working a job that required more than 40 hours a week and paid me $13/hour... which was going up to $15/hour in less than a months time. Time was money to me... If I was sitting still, I was wasting it... and clicking on an email that wasn't worth even a penny got ignored.

That was in the early years of Inbox Dollars. Reading emails was just the beginning. I also saw the addition of the games section. I was pretty good at those and would play once in a while. Then they added surveys... all of which seemed to be in search on anyone that was NOT in my demographic range - 30ish, white, working mom.

OH how the times have changed... and so has Inbox Dollars!! They still have the activities I have discussed, but have added a lot more. They seem similar to SwagBucks in activities. The one thing I like that is different... they will send you a CHECK for the things you do on their site! And emails are now 2 cents each! 50 of those babies = $1!! I like not having to choose an online retailer that I want to spend what I earn on! I can use the money to pay for gas or groceries or dinner out with my kids.

Not only Inbox Dollars has changed since I first joined... the Economy has changed... I have changed. $1 seems like a lot of money to me... as I am sure it does to a lot of others. We do what we can, but why not have some fun while doing it?

I don't want anyone to think that they have to choose between InboxDollars and SwagBucks. You can if you choose to do so, but I would suggest giving both of them a try to see which fits you best. I, myself, plan to use both... Neither take a huge chunk out of my day, but they do add to my quality of life... being able to give my daughter her first diamond, that didn't cost me one cent, added to my happiness GREATLY!! I really hope that at least one of the programs that I have listed or will be listing can do the same for you. Everyone deserves a little twinkle in their eye once in a while, and nothing is better at putting it there than a smile!! :)

SwagBucks!!!

First up is SwagBucks!! I just redeemed my 22nd $5 eGift card for Amazon.com this morning since I joined last September. There was even one month this last summer that I didn't even log onto SwagBucks, or that amount would be higher. I chose to focus on Amazon because there are no "You save this $$ amount off of a purchase of this amount." That is NOT a Gift card!! That is a COUPON!! I can show you rebate programs where you could get more money back than some of those stupid coupons! At least, the ones that I have found. If you know something that I don't know, please share so we all can benefit!! :)

Anyways, back to SwagBucks...

  Search & Win

Oh! You see prizes in that pretty little link, do you? Yes, you can save up your SwagBucks to earn actual prizes. You can also use your SwagBucks in the SwagStakes. I have tried a lot to win items through the SwagStakes, but I have only won once... I prefer to save my Bucks and use the Amazon gift cards during Sales, so in the long run, my SwagBucks go VERY far... Diamonds? Oh, YES!! :) And SO much more!!

Well, I have discussed a bit of what you can earn, but I haven't told you HOW to earn those little beauties. The time has come... :)

First, you  must join. You can use one of the links found around the site to do so. That way, we are linked!! After the short sign up process, it is time to start earning. Searching is the easiest way to earn coins. Depending on what browser you are using, there are special steps for you to take that are very easy! Follow this link to set up yours...

http://search.swagbucks.com/g/toolbars-and-plugins

After setting SwagBucks search as your default search engine, you are ready! They like for you to search as you usually do... randomly and not just to earn Bucks. So, I keep a notebook of things I need to look up and then do my research in the morning and then again at night. I seem to be able to earn them twice a day. On Fridays, you have a chance of winning even higher amounts for each of your searches!

SwagCodes... Nearly everyday they release a code that will get you various amounts of Bucks. I suggest "friending" the SwagBucks page on FB... https://www.facebook.com/swagbucks?sk=wall&filter=2. You can also bookmark this page... http://www.widgetbox.com/widget/swidget-10. It contains a handy widget!!

Small, Easy, Fast Ways to Earn Bucks... The Center of Your SwagBucks World... The Homepage on the SwagBucks website... http://www.swagbucks.com/

First, scroll to the bottom of the page and check to see who is the random hourly winner of 1000 Bucks. *crossing fingers that someday I will win that*

Second, in the middle of the page toward the top, you should see a link for "Ad Rewards." Clicking this will open another window. You will be asked 3 questions so they can determine the best ads for you. I click all choices so that I know I will get the maximum number of ads. Then, sit back and click an ad. Look closely for the two black bars that pop up during your ad. They will each have a random number fly through it that you need to enter to get your Bucks at the end of the ad.

Third, click on "NOSO" (No Obligation Special Offers) or this link... http://www.swagbucks.com/g/noso. On the new page, you will have several offers that you can sign up for. I have signed up for a few of them. If you aren't interested in the current offer just click either the "skip" or the "next offer" buttons. After several offers, you will come to the last page with a verify box to help prove that you are human.

Fourth, hover over the "Earn" button on the top toolbar and then click "Daily Poll." This is an easy point!

Fifth, check your mail! You will see an envelope on your toolbar. It has a red number to let you know how many new messages you have. I always do the 3 Buck SBTB/Ad offer. You will also find other offers and such that you can choose to do or not to do.

Sixth, SBTV. You earn 3 points for every 10 video clips you watch. They have a variety of clips to choose from, so feel free to watch away!

Seventh, Coupons!! Yes, you can print out coupons right on SwagBucks, save money using them at the store, and then when they receive them back at HQ. SwagBucks credit your account with 10 Bucks per coupon!!

These are the ways I make most of my points. There are many other ways that I have not listed.... Tasks, Surveys, Trade-Ins, etc. These are all listed on the homepage. If there are any special ways to earn that pop up, I will post it here so check back often!! :)
